Is the Northern Winter is the same as Surgery

Think of all the wonderful websites that come into existence in places like Finland and Norway. Not to mention Canada and Alaska.

The winters are so harsh that indoor entertainment has to be found - or go CRAZY!!

My compadre Peter Hyndman has been unable to do anything physical for the last month because of some medium density surgery to his shoulder so he has been making the best of it. Two new websites (see below) and now,

Honestly I am a bit startled to be suddenly thrust into the world of Merchandising.

But there it is - a nice quality T-shirt from CafePress.

Great New Website 1 - Goat Island Skiff building and sailing

Again the remarkable P. Hyndman has burst to the fore and produced a wonderful website about the Goat Island Skiff.

This one is a big update of his original GIS site - almost everything has been changed.

New images, videos, better and more description of building - lots of links to images and discussions on the net - including the one on the Storerboats Forum

All well packaged and easy to navigate.

Great New Website 2 - Eureka Canoe Building pics - launch videos

Peter Hyndman has been boiling down the essence of the Eureka Canoe he has been building.

So a great new website that runs through all the processes of building in a step by step way including pictures and description of each step.

It also has a link to the videos from our recent picnic in Mooloolaba where we had 3 PDRacers, 2 Eureka Canoes and the Goat Island Skiff.

There is one video of the actual launch of PhilW's beaut Eureka and another with different groups of paddlers giving it a try. The varnish was only just dry.

Note that he didn't waste too much wine in the video launch sequence.

I'm a bit interested about how women tend to like canoes above and beyond other boats - there is a real enthusiasm from them to try - where there can be reluctance with either sailing or motor boats.

Remember that the new storer forum has a couple of Eureka Canoe threads too.

Well, I'm excited.
